Food for Neighbors: SVFR Holds It's First Open Pantry Event

Our first ever Seven Valleys Food Rescue Open Pantry was a huge success and we were able to distribute 15,172 pounds of food to 315 community members.

We have so many people to thank!

Our incredible volunteer force worked hard to ensure the event ran smoothly. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated all of the shelf-stable goods distributed during the event. And, without the Cortland County Highway Department, we would not have been able to unload the 23 pallets of food donated. We are feeling incredibly grateful for the Cortland community that showed us what it means to be a good neighbor! THANK YOU!

Consider Giving This Philanthropy Day!

For over two decades, Seven Valleys Health Coalition has been deeply committed to fostering a healthier Cortland by addressing and alleviating the social determinants of health that affect so many lives in our region. This year, we are excited to participate in Cortland Community Foundation’s Philanthropy Day campaign, a day dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the transformative power of giving.

We are asking for your support during this campaign, which is critical to our work. 100% of our programming is offered at no-cost to our clients and community members; we rely solely on philanthropic means to operate. Donations can be made by clicking the button below or mailing a check to the Community Foundation at P.O. Box 466, Cortland, NY 13045.

Please note, donations must specify SVHC as the recipient of donation. Donations can be between $100-$5,000.

 13th Annual Crisis Intervention Training

SVHC was honored to sponsor and help organize the13th Annual Crisis Intervention Training in September. This training helps law enforcement and first responders better understand and respond to community members who may be dealing with mental health challenges. This event saw attendees from Cortland Police Department, Cortland County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol and Corrections Division, Cortland County 911 Communications Center, Cortland County Probation, Camillus Police Department, SUNY Cortland, and Syracuse University Department of Public Safety

Thank you to Cortland County Mental Health Department and the Rural Health Institute of New York for contributing to this important annual training for our community.
