#FoodWasteFriday: Wild Game Meat Donations
With 16 state forests filled with prime habitats for waterfowl and game, Cortland County is a perfect setting for hunting. Despite the best intentions of sportsmen and women, as a hunter, you can sometimes find yourself with excess edible game meat at the end of the season.
If that happens to you or someone you know, Seven Valleys Food Rescue (SVFR), a new program of Seven Valleys Health Coalition, is available to help distribute to neighbors in need, any edible game meat that you may have in excess this season.
For us, rescuing food doesn’t just happen in grocery stores and on farms, it can happen in the forest and fields as well!
Have wild game meat you would like to donate? Contact us! Email gabrielle@sevenvalleyshealth.org or call us at (607) 756-4198.
If you would like to help us spread the word of the work SVFR is doing in connection with wild game meat, would you consider sharing or posting our flyer as well?
