Mighty in the Schools: Children's Dental Health Month Wrap-up
Mighty Molar and friends celebrated Children's Dental Health Month by visiting our 3rd-grade students in Cortland County. All students received a dental health care kit full of goodies like toothbrushes, toothpaste, & floss. Students learned what a trip to the dentist looks like, proper brushing and flossing techniques, and the importance of eating a healthy diet. Test your knowledge and check out our videos below. Huge thank you to our Dr. Whipple and friends at Seven Valleys Dental!
SVHC in the News: The Doula Partnership
We are thankful to the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York for the support they give to our Doula Partnership program. You can read our interview with HFWCNY on what a birth doula is, learn more about our local doula care network, and understand why we need better maternal and birth outcomes not only in the Cortland area, but across all of New York in HFWCNY's spotlight article. You can read the article HERE.

And, That’s a Wrap!
As February drew to a close, so did the Produce Cooking Class with Cornell Cooperative Extension/ SNAP-ED, hosted at the Cortland County YMCA. The class taught participants about reading food labels, menu planning, shopping on a budget, and cutting back sugar. Participants also tried new recipes using fruits and vegetables, such as creamed green beans and potatoes, berry beet smoothies, fried rice, and cabbage stir fry. The class was fun, informative, and supported healthy lifestyles.
